Dear All, A quick reminder that the registration deadline for the 9th International Brillouin Conference (Berlin, Germany, 25-27th November 2025, www.biobrillouin2025.com ) is approaching… Deadline for registration: 10th November 2025 (midnight Central European Time) You can register here: https://www.biobrillouin25.com/registration Please be sure to register if you plan to attend, if possible before the 4th Nov (as this is date venue wants estimate of number of attendees) but latest on the 10th Nov. Late Poster Submissions: We also still accept submissions for posters until this date (10th Nov) So if you have not submitted an abstract and would still like to, you can do so here: https://www.biobrillouin25.com/abstract-submission Program: The preliminary program is online, including all the titles and presenters (oral and posters), here: https://www.biobrillouin25.com/program Note, the posters are being updated on a running basis with new submissions. Dear All, Registration is now officially open for the 9th International BioBrillouin Meeting. To register visit the official meeting website (www.biobrillouin25.com) and follow the respective links or go directly to: https://www.biobrillouin25.com/registration Registration includes full access to all sessions in the meeting, all lunches during the conference, and dinners on two of the conference days (one at venue and also the banquet dinner at a nice restaurant in Berlin). Registration payments are possible via all major Credit Cards (preferred) as well as direct bank transfer. Have not submitted an abstract but still want to present? We will be accepting poster presentations (see www.biobrillouin25.com) until 10th November subject to availability. Please be sure to register as soon as possible, as we may have to cap when we reach capacity for the venue (due to safety regulations). Sad news

Dear All, It is with great sadness that we learn of the unexpected passing of Prof. Jochen Guck last weekend. Jochen was a prolific and amazing person by all accounts, not only for mechanobiology in general but also Brillouin Microscopy, and a core person who made the establishment of this BioBrillouin network possible and extension of the technology to biology. Above all though he was an amazing person that made everyone feel comfortable and brought out the best in everyone. This is a huge loss for the BioBrillouin community, mechanobiology community, and the world at large. Our most sincere condolences go out foremost to his family and closest friends. We all will miss him very much as a friend and colleague. In the wishes of Jochen himself (local organizer of the upcoming BioBrillouin Meeting in Berlin) the meeting should take place as planned and “should be better than ever” – and this is what we will strive for. The Scientific Organizing Committee has stepped up to make this a reality. We feel it important to pay tribute, and will dedicate a session in the Meeting to the work by his lab. We will also be awarding a “Jochen Guck Prize: for the most promising translation of Brillouin Microscopy to Medical Applications” that will be awarded each year, and provide a lasting legacy. Extension of abstract submission deadline for 9th International BioBrillouin Meeting (Berlin, 25-27 Nov 2025)

Dear All, We would like to announce that we are extending the abstract submission deadline of the 9th International BioBrillouin Meeting (Berlin, 25-27 Nov 2025) to end of 7th October 2025. Notification of acceptance will still be provided as planned on the 14th October for all abstracts. All information pertaining to submission of abstracts and the meeting can be found at: www.biobrillouin25.com Registration: Several people have asked about when registration will open. Our IT is currently ironing out a few things with the online credit card payment system to make sure it works flawlessly, so we can offer this in addition to bank transfer. We hope to have this ready later this or next week, and a separate notification/announcement will be sent out once we go online with registration. If you submitted an abstract, you will additionally be notified in an email requesting that you register at a provided link. Location and date of BioBrillouin 2025 Meeting

Dear All, It is our pleasure to announce the new location and dates of the BioBrillouin 2025 Meeting (previously scheduled in Boston). Together with the support of a hastily assembled Scientific Organizing Committee, Jochen Guck and his team will host the next meeting at… the official Conference Venue of the Max Planck Society – Harnack House, near Berlin, Germany (https://www.harnackhaus-berlin.mpg.de/en) on the 25-27th November 2025. Please save the date! This is a beautiful conference center and grounds with excellent provided catering and facilities (making organizing on a shorter timeline manageable). It has hosted some important meetings attended by many Nobel Laureates over the years (see website), so I guess if it was good enough for them... It is near the bustling and easy to get/fly to Berlin, Germany, and there will be social events in the city organized as part of the program. I think on short notice it provides the perfect venue for us to still get together this year and share results, ideas and stories in a comfortable and stress free setting. We hope many of you can manage to attend! What is next? Further details on abstract submission, program and registration will follow asap (in the next week or two).
