Hi All..
So, firstly, I created a mailing list (muw(a)biobrillouin.org) we can all post to to quickly reach everybody in lab – which this mail is sent to. Feel free to use this for anything from asking for help, announcing something that may affect others, or seeing who wants to grab breakfast/lunch/coffee/beer/etc.. (just send mail to muw(a)biobrillouin.org) If you would like me to add a different email address (e.g. gmail) to mailing list let me know. I figured this can be useful instead of typing all email addresses all the time and also being sure to systematically include any new people that might join (at the moment the mails go out to: Pierre, Felix, Kaixuan, Jennifer, Ursula, Anastasia, and me)
Secondly, most of you (Pierre, Felix, Kaixuan, Jennifer, Ursula) should have gotten an email invite to a google calendar, that you can also find here: https://calendar.google.com/calendar/u/0?cid=YTRhNjE3NTBmNGQzNzFiMGI3NmM4ZT…
This is for blocking time on TFP. Since this is used for multiple experiments, it makes sense to have some kind of booking calendar in order for those using to plan and to avoid conflict.
So if you plan to use TFP please block the time in the calendar (if there are any issues with access let me know – you should all have editing rights).
I would like to implement this also for other instruments along the line but only as needed or requested (maybe lasers, refractometer, viscometer, etc,..), since it can make things easier to plan for everybody if more than one person needs.. so like e.g. over weekend you can just check on your phone what you will need for next week(s) and not be faced with someone who also wants to use at same time.
Maybe there is a more elegant than google but let us start with this since it is easy.
Finally, I would like to invite you all for a punch/Gluehwein (Mulled Wine) at a “Christkindl Markt” just as a little get together to all touch base. I would propose the 12th or 13th December at 5pm. Let me know which works better for you. Am thinking the market at Altes AKH would be most convenient, but also open to any other suggestions (the one in Spittelberg is also nice if not too out of the way). Just post suggestions to this list & if you can make..
All the best & see you soon!
Kareem
