Hi Stephanie,

Good question. Not sure if can give exact numbers off the bat, especially for those further back.

The general ballpark was around 50. I cc. SOC which contains Francesca, Thorsten and Michael, who can fill in some of the blanks better maybe for more recent ones they hosted.

I paste below my estimates for each. If anyone else in SOC has better recollections than me please correct the below.

I can get more precise numbers further back with a bit of work and fishing, but would be effort and require me tracking down people no longer in field and/or working for me anymore. I will try and do so, as this information can be useful in future for presentations and applications (but not sure how quick I can get during this time in August) – will write Thomas, Daniele, Celia, Michaela  & Anita in this regard. Let me know if these ballpark numbers are ok for you for now and for sake of this application? (maybe ok to give a range in each one, if it is an open text form, like e.g. 30-40 or 100-110).

All the best,

Kareem

Meeting 1: closer to 30 (think was a little over)

Meeting 2: Perugia was more than twice as large since also had non-BioBrillouin combined so closer >100 I would say

Meeting 3: In Porto was I believe about 50

Meeting 4: was online via Exeter. Francesca do you have number here?

Meeting 5: Online via Vienna. Maximum at any one time was 110 in room (attendance was higher because free and online)

Meeting 6: I believe Thomas mentioned around 50

Meeting 7: Michael correct me if I am wrong, but I think this was also around 50?

Meeting 8: Thorsten, I believe you mentioned around 70?

Hi Kareem,

would you please let me know how many attendees the BioBrillouin Conferences had in the previous years?

o   BioBrillouin Meeting 1 (Vienna, Austria, 2017):

o   BioBrillouin Meeting 2 (Perugia, Italy, 2018):

o   BioBrillouin Meeting 3 (Porto, Portugal, 2019):

o   BioBrillouin Meeting 4 (Exeter, UK, 2020):

o   BioBrillouin Meeting 5 (Online, 2021):

o   BioBrillouin Meeting 6 (Lyon, France, 2022):

o   BioBrillouin Meeting 7 (Dublin, Ireland, 2023):

o   BioBrillouin Meeting 8 (Trondheim, Norway, 2024):

I am completing the questionaire/proposal from Optica (https://www.optica.org/events/meeting_opportunities/meeting_grants/) and would send it to Gerd Leuchs directly. However, the submission needs to be before the 15th of each month.

Thank you!

Best,

Stephanie

 Hi Stephanie,

What about putting the other sponsors (not just Optica - assuming they support) on poster?
Maybe I misunderstand,  would Optica then not serve as a Silver/Gold/Platinum sponsor but something else? (if so, what would they potentially offer and want in return?)

All the best,
Kareem

Dear all,

the poster has been approved by our PR team and would be ready to go.
Iâ•˙ve gone through it carefully, but Iâ•˙d appreciate it if you could give
it a quick glance and let me know if you spot any typos or mistakes, or
any design issues. Iâ•˙ll fix them, and we can add Optica if that works out.

Thanks so much!
Cheers, Stephanie
