Good morning,It looks like Witec (Oxford Instruments) will be able to help us clear this shipment. I really appreciate your efforts to assist.Meanwhile their Deputy General Manager Matthias Kress (matthias.kress@oxinst.com) would like to attend the conference on Wednesday only. Could we arrange for credentials for him? I will cover any associated costs. On Fri, Nov 21, 2025 at 12:19 PM Stephanie Möllmert <stephanie.moellmert@mpl.mpg.de> wrote:Dear Gregg,
Unfortunately, neither EMBL nor MPL are able to act as importer of record or provide an EORI number for this purpose.
We are still checking with a couple of other contacts here, but at this point it may be difficult to arrange a German importer on such short notice. If we do receive a positive response, we will forward the details to you immediately.
Best regards,
Stephanie

Dear Gregg,
Thank you for letting us know.
We are on it: we have already contacted the purchasing departments of the institutions we are affiliated with, as well as other conference attendees who are based in Germany, to ask whether they can act as importer of record and provide an EORI number and a contact for the authorization document. We are currently awaiting their responses and will forward any positive reply and details to you as soon as we have them.
Please note that it is Friday afternoon here, so it may not be possible to arrange this in time, but we will do what we can.
Best regards,
Stephanie

We have just learned that our plan to get our demo unit into Germany was based on some incorrect information and we will in fact need a German entity to be the importer of record.
We would very much appreciate your assistance with this. We will specifically need a German company or institution's EORI# and a contact who can sign a document authorizing the import. We will cover all costs.
Can you help us with this?

Another update for you.
We have established a path to get our equipment into Germany without
the need for a domestic importer for record, so you can ignore that
request.
We will still need to confirm the shipping address with you.

I believe your other sponsors are from the EU, so they will not have this problem.
