I will delay public announcement of abstract submissions until tomorrow (Fri) after meeting (one day won’t make difference), as think some important stuff can still be added/modified before.
In particular…
@Thorsten: Any news from plant keynote/invited speakers for BioBrillouin in Berlin (would be good to include in announcement to make sure plant folks jump on). We don’t need talk title just yet (although would be ideal), just confirmation. If nothing can always put in Marketa (she mentioned she’ll attend anyhow) as invited. Alternative could be Kalina Haas (same place as Alexis in Versailles, who does interesting stuff) & who would prob be very interesting. Both would also help with gender equality and internationality since have no one from either countries.
@Francesca: Anybody from your side?
I updated invited/keynote talks with titles. This looks quite good I think. I also included Biman Bagchi since think based on Robert’s analysis we should be able to cover his flight, and am confident he will impress and add important angle that is missing to discourse.
Am still somewhat of opinion that it might be idea to invite Daryll Overby and Peter Torok (covering no costs) if only for the discussions that would ensue (am quite certain neither will come unless invited). Let me know your thoughts.
Personally, I would also really like to have Danielle Fioretto there, but I am also not sure if he would attend without invite (maybe Francesca knows more). I think it is important to keep in mind that a lot of people we would like to have there (including the likes of Thomas Dehoux) will likely not come unless as formally invited speakers (even if no costs are covered) – hence my extensive list of invited speakers initially..
All the best,
Kareem
