FW: [EXTERN] RE: Invitation to give an Invited Talk at 9th International BioBrillouin Conference (Berlin 25-27 Nov 2025)
Fyi (below). Also if you could please ask all persons you invited and accepted for preliminary talk title (so can populate website) would be great. All the best & hopefully see some of you online this Fri, Kareem From: Brendan Kennedy <brendan.kennedy@uwa.edu.au> Date: Thursday, 24. So glad you can make it 😊 When ever you get chance could you give a preliminary title for talk (trying to populate website). Will be in touch with more info regarding detailed program etc. in next month, but for now block 25-27 Nov. These meeting are always good time and community is super friendly. Thank you very much for the invitation to speak at the conference in Berlin. I would be delighted to do so. I’m really eager to learn more about Brillouin microscopy and to share my group’s work on OCE. It will be fascinating to explore overlaps and potential collaborations. Yes, I’m in a kind of quantum state at the moment. I’m back in Australia now, but am spending most of my time in Poland these days, so am relatively close to Berlin, which should make the trip convenient, at least a lot more convenient than travelling from Perth! Really looking forward to seeing you in Berlin! Thanks again!! I heard you are in Europe for (if I heard correctly) much of this year. As such (but also if you were not)… On behalf of the Scientific Organizing Committee, I would like to invite you to give a an invited talk at the upcoming 9th International BioBrillouin Conference, which will take place in Berlin, at the conference venue of the Max Planck Society (Harnack-Haus) on 25–27 November 2025. This event serves as a venue where experts and leading scientists from around the world working on Brillouin Light Scattering Spectroscopy for biological and biomedical applications meet once a year to share their latest advances, findings, and innovations in the field. In addition to two full days of keynote, invited and contributed talks, it will feature poster sessions and various social activities. As part of our efforts to deepen our understanding of Brillouin light scattering measurements and their broader implications in relation to other techniques, we would be delighted to hear about your work in OCE. We believe your insights would greatly enrich our discussions on understanding mechanics on different spatio-temporal scales, and serve as a basis to discuss potential collaborations. Due to limited financial resources and the short-notice relocation, which has limited our ability to acquire more comprehensive sponsorship for this event (it was initially meant to happen in Harvard… but politics kind of got in the way), we request that invited speakers cover their own travel and accommodation costs. If this presents a major difficulty, let us know and we can look into the potential of providing a travel stipend for cases most needed (albeit subject to availability which will likely be quite limited). We all would very much look forward to meeting you in Berlin, and please let me know at your earliest convenience (ideally by Friday), if you will be able to attend to deliver an invited talk. All the best, Kareem On behalf of the Scientific Organizing Committee: Jochen Guck (Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light & Max-Planck-Zentrum für Physik und Medizin, Germany) Kareem Elsayad (Medical University of Vienna, Austria) Robert Prevedel (European Molecular Biology Laboratory - EMBL, Germany) Francesca Palombo (Exeter University, United Kingdom) Stephanie Möllmert (Max Planck Institute for the Science of Light, Germany) Michael Monaghan (Trinity College Dublin, Ireland) Thorsten Hamann (Norwegian University of Science and Technology, Norway)
