Hi guys, So I want to send the below (draft) to all attendees tomorrow (please see if I am missing something important). There is the open question of do all the company reps also get the one year membership included. Obviously the ones that registered as regular registrants would, but what about those that came with packages? We did not mention this explicitly in sponsorship package (that they will get membership). On the one hand I think they should purely for simplicity. On the other it will be harder to get them in as society sponsors if we do. Any strong opinions? If you have any photos from the meeting you would like to share (and have not done so yet), please send me them to kelsayad@gmail.com and will upload to drive for all to have access to. All the best, Kareem -- Dear All, On behalf of all the organizers we would like to quickly thank you again for attending the 9th International BioBrillouin Meeting. We hope you found the meeting enjoyable and inspirational. I have been told we had >100 people in attendance (50% more than last year), so this easily makes it the biggest BioBrillouin meeting to date, and would have definitely made Jochen Guck proud. We want to take this opportunity to once again thank all the Platinum, Gold and Silver sponsors of the meeting, without whom the event would not have been financially feasible. We look forward to working together with you also for future meetings. A couple of additional points… Receipts: Many have requested formal payment receipts. We are processing these as fast as we can and issuing as soon as money appears in account. It can, due to apparently unavoidable university bureaucracy, sometimes take several weeks to show up in our account, so please bear with us. All requests pertaining to these should be addressed to soc25@biobrillouin.org Mailing List: If you have paid the registration fee for the meeting you also have one year membership in the society included (if you have not you can still do so). This means you will also have access to this mailing list: members@biobrillouin.org We have already placed you on this mailing list, but if you would like to unsubscribe at any time simply click the unsubscribe link that can be found at the end of each list post. The mailing list will (initially at least) be moderated so we can make sure you do not receive any spam through it. I have been told that for some people these mailing list mails go straight to their Junk or spam folders, as such maybe check this is not the case and mark address as “not spam”. What is this mailing list for? Advertising Job openings, Meetings, Workshops, Events, Special/Feature Issues, Funding schemes, etc. Asking and answering (scientific/technology) questions to the community. It goes without saying that all the above should be related to BioBrillouin. What is this mailing list NOT for? Product promotion and self-promotion. Due also to the number of people on the list, it is not intended to advertise any commercial or soon to be commercialized products (or services with for-profit monetary interests at hand). Same applies to self-promotion (e.g. “I will be presenting X at Y” or “We have just published X in Y”) – if everyone does this the list will quickly descend into madness, and people will unsubscribe. These posts will thus be blocked at moderation. For the above you should use your Linkedin/X accounts, and the Society Social Media team will be sure to like/love/support/repost.. your post as deemed appropriate. To make sure they spot your post include the hashtag #BioBrillouin and/or shoot an email to socmedia@biobrillouin.org with link to post. Publications/preprint links can also be sent to newsletter@biobrillouin.org and will be listed in the forthcoming edition. Hi Kareem, I would not offer society membership to sponsors, only to those that officially registered. I don’t think there is a benefit of having company reps in the society, unless they act as society sponsors. Otherwise the message reads well, I would just move the mailing list part to the end as it has less to do with the conference. Thanks for drafting and sending around!
